Apex School of Naturopathy & Yogic Sciences Celebrates Nutrition Week

Apex School of Naturopathy and Yogic Sciences, Apex University, Jaipur celebrated Nutrition Week (1-7 Sep 2023) with great enthusiasm and participation from faculty, staff, and students. The theme of Nutrition Week was “Healthy Diet -Affordable for All”. The week-long celebration aimed to raise awareness about the importance of nutrition in our daily lives and promote healthy eating habits. The activities included poster making, rangoli competitions,  traditional cooking and Educational Workshops and Talks

Poster Making Competition

The Nutrition Week kicked off with a poster-making competition that saw active participation from students and faculty. The theme of the competition was “Healthy Diet -Affordable for All”,” and participants showcased their creative talents by designing informative and visually appealing posters. The posters highlighted the significance of a balanced diet, the benefits of various nutrients, and the role of nutrition in preventing chronic diseases. The winners received certificates and prizes as tokens of appreciation.

Rangoli Competition

One of the highlights of the celebration was the rangoli competition, which added a colorful and artistic dimension to the event. Teams of students came together to create stunning rangoli designs with a nutrition-related theme. The rangolis depicted fruits, vegetables, and other healthy food items, spreading the message of good nutrition through art. The competition fostered a sense of teamwork and creativity among the participants.

Traditional Cooking Demonstration

To emphasize the importance of traditional and local foods in a healthy diet, the department organized a traditional cooking(state-wise) demonstration. Faculty members and students collaborated to prepare traditional dishes from various regions. The demonstration showcased how traditional recipes could be both nutritious and delicious. Attendees had the opportunity to taste these dishes and learn about the nutritional value of different ingredients.

Educational Workshops and Talks

Throughout the week, the department conducted educational workshops and talks on various nutrition-related topics. These sessions covered subjects such as the importance of a balanced diet, dietary guidelines, and the role of nutrition in preventing lifestyle-related diseases.

In a nutshell, it was a resounding success, promoting awareness about the significance of nutrition in maintaining good health. The combination of creative activities like poster making and rangoli, along with educational workshops and traditional cooking demonstrations, made the event both informative and enjoyable.
