The Diploma in Education (D.Ed.) – Intellectual & Developmental Disability at Apex
University, in accordance with the guidelines of the Rehabilitation Council of India (RCI),
aims to prepare professionally trained Special Educators to work with children and persons
with Intellectual Disability (ID) and Developmental Disabilities. The programme develops
the knowledge, competencies, and ethical orientation required to address cognitive, adaptive,
behavioral, and functional needs of learners across age groups.
The curriculum emphasizes Individualized Education Programmes (IEPs), evidence-based
inclusive and adaptive instructional strategies, behavior modification and management
techniques, and basic speech, language, and communication interventions. Strong focus is
placed on creating structured, supportive, and learner-centric educational environments that
facilitate academic achievement, social integration, functional independence, and overall
development.
Passed in 10+2 or its equivalent examination in any stream conducted by a recognized Board / University /Council. Obtained at least 75% for all category.

Rehabilitation Specialist:

Behavioral Therapist:
